buddha emerges
after wandering love’s path
retraces more steps
This row of bronze Buddhas progressively emerge from the ground. First there is a bust set at ground level, then a torso and eventually a full standing statue. Or could it be that the full standing one is the first statue in a series of statues that depict a return to the ground, to nature or a return to our essence?
Anyway, I’m quite taken by this arrangement of five Buddha statues.
The poem and the sculpture are both wonderful.

Tomorrow I will re-post my Bleak Mouse verse on this theme. I hope you will like that one too.

Neat, where is this? It would be really cool if the last one levitated to symbolize attaining nirvana. Too much to ask?

Thanks Jeff. These statues are at Springvale Botanical Cemetery – my ‘local’.
‘Levitation in bronze’ is an intriguing title for another post.
Cheers,

What a great view of these Buddah statues, David. You can really see the essence of them and their meaning, whatever each person makes of them. As for me, I love them and would love to see them for real one day. You never know …
